Who we are

Summary
- We don't collect personal data.
- Your chats, photos, and recordings stay on your device.
- When you generate voiceover, your text is sent to a third-party speech service to synthesize the audio.
What data we process and why
Content you create — chats, participants, photos, and exported videos. This content is stored in your device's local database and cache. It never leaves your device, and we never see it.
Text-to-speech requests — when you generate a voiceover for a Reel, the text and the selected voice ID are sent to ElevenLabs via our Cloudflare Worker proxy. The request is used solely to synthesize the audio. We do not attach any identifier of you. ElevenLabs processes the request under its own privacy policy (elevenlabs.io/privacy-policy).
Subscription purchases — handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We receive only the subscription status (active or not active). We do not see your Apple ID, payment method, or billing details.
Third parties we rely on
- Apple — App Store distribution and StoreKit subscription billing. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
- ElevenLabs — voice synthesis for Reel voiceovers. See elevenlabs.io/privacy-policy.
- Cloudflare — hosts our Worker proxy and the background-video catalogue (R2 storage). Cloudflare may retain standard access logs (request URL, IP address) for up to 30 days as part of its infrastructure operation. We do not access those logs for analytics or marketing.
What we do not do
- No analytics SDKs.
- No tracking, advertising, or profiling.
- No selling of data.
- No user accounts, login, or profile.
Data retention
Synthesized audio is cached locally on your device until you uninstall the app or clear the cache. We retain no server-side database of your content. Our Worker proxy does not persist the text you send beyond the duration of the request.
Children's privacy
ChatKit is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent regulations, you may request access to or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. In practice, because we do not store personal data, uninstalling the app removes all local content. For any other request, email ser@thecool.company.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always at this URL. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
